COURSE DESCRIPTION

This cutting-edge workshop is a comprehensive hands-on interventional regenerative medicine spine workshop to complement your clinical and surgical treatments. The workshop will provide the fundamentals regarding the various types of regenerative medicine and injection techniques.  Included will be uses of various guidance such as palpation, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy, and information on how Orthobiologic treatments such as PRP, and Cellular MSCs work for the spine, giving you the tools and skills to achieve successful patient outcomes. The emphasis will be on teaching you how to incorporate into your practice.

  • Perform physical examinations and determine a diagnosis for the spine.

  • Understand the current Regulations and FDA Guidance’s regarding Regenerative medicine.

  • Understand the various injectable solutions such as PRP, MSCs, along with other orthobiologics including Prolotherapy.

  • Assess injection solutions and determine most effective treatments situations for the spine.

  • Assess multiple injection techniques for the upper and lower spine.

  • Determine appropriate injection needle placement for several situations using ultrasound for the spine.

  • Determine appropriate injection needle placement for several situations using fluoroscopy for the spine.

  • Perform hands-on diagnostic techniques for the spine.

Using palpation, ultrasound and fluoroscopy, this 1.5 day workshop will encompass five separate labs with breakout teams that will be covering injection education and techniques followed by supervised practice sessions using cadaver specimen. You’ll have access to multiple instructors to deepen your knowledge and learning opportunity.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Physicians with prior exposure to musculoskeletal ultrasound who want or need hands-on training experience in performing US-guided injections. This is ideal for physicians who want to add this skill set into their practice, expand their repertoire of procedures they can offer, or hammer down the basics of performing US-guided injections.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

Registration is open to physicians who are board-certified or in the examination process for certification in: Anesthesiology, Interventional Pain, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Radiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, or Family Practice / Sports Medicine.  Registrants who are not board-certified or eligible for certification in these specialties must have either completed or be currently enrolled in a pain fellowship accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), or be a residency trained MD or DO approved by the educational committee of the AAOM to enroll in this course.
