Mission Brigade Returns Home After a Week-Long Journey of Intensive Training & Patient Care

After an incredible week filled with learning, teaching, dedication, compassion, and healing, the Mission Brigade has successfully returned home. This incredible team of healthcare professionals and volunteers spent seven days in Cancun, Mexico, on September 1-6, 2024, working side by side with CUMDA Institute of Prolotherapy to deliver patient care to local community members. Their unwavering commitment to improving health outcomes has not only changed lives but also strengthened the bonds of our community and advances the AAOM goal of supporting physicians who practice interventional regenerative medicine (IROM) to bring relief to patients across the world.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Sponsors

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our generous sponsors who made this mission possible. Your support allowed us to provide essential medical services, supplies, and equipment to those in need. Without your contributions, this mission would not have been possible.

Thank you to Joel Suraci of RegenTx for allowing us to transport and use the Mindray ultrasound machines. Thank you also to Rachel Massey and the team at Clarius US for the use of the wonderful handheld ultrasounds.

Additional gratitude goes out to CUMDA Institute of Prolotherapy and Karisma Hotels & Resorts Foundation for providing the operational infrastructure for participating physicians.

Why We Need Sponsors

Sponsorship plays a pivotal role in nonprofit missions like ours. Here’s how:

  • Funding for Medical Supplies: Our sponsors helped cover the costs of critical medical equipment, ensuring that our team could deliver high-quality care.

  • Transportation and Logistics: The journey to remote areas can be challenging. Sponsorships allow us to secure transportation and logistics, ensuring our team reaches those who need us most.

  • Community Outreach: With sponsor support, we can promote our mission and reach more individuals who may benefit from our services.

Why Our Sponsors Support Us

“One of our favorite medical-provider-based organizations on the planet is AAOM!’ says Joel Suraci, owner of RegenTx. “The instructors are all the highest level musculoskeletal-focused physicians you can find anywhere, and their level of experience and knowledge is amongst the best in the field. On top of that, they are the kindest, most humble practitioners you can ever imagine meeting and getting to know. It’s easy to see they genuinely care about their patients and all humans’ well being in general as they dedicate their time to learning, growing, and becoming the best possible physician version of themselves as possible. As well, the missions they donate their time and energy to, are the clear evidence that the patient is number one in their hearts and minds.

“We love supporting AAOM because we know what they stand for, believe in, and genuinely represent in real time, every time we see them doing their thing. Whether you are a physician looking for great training, looking for an amazing conduit of information that stems from experience and years of learning, or just looking for an amazing group of medical practitioners to be part of, we can’t recommend a higher level than that afforded by becoming a member of AAOM. An incredible family of physicians and organizers!"

Workshop Impact

This past week, our team treated hundreds of patients suffering from a variety of ailments, from chronic illnesses to acute emergencies. Here are some highlights of the impact we made:

  • More than 300 Patients Treated: Our medical team worked tirelessly to assess and treat patients, providing vital care that many had been waiting for.

  • Educational Workshops: We conducted workshops on preventative care and healthy practices to empower participants with knowledge and resources to use back home in their practices.

Dr. Mike Carlson & Karisma Foundation Isabel Arroyo work together to determine patient needs.

“You are a blessing from God coming to Cancun and teaching others to help people live without pain,” a recent patient said of AAOM brigade leader and AAOM President Mike Carlson. “I want to take him home with me.”
