INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP

AAOM is committed to building and nurturing a global interventional regenerative orthopedic medicine (IROM) community inclusive of diverse perspectives, talents, and experiences as it works toward one collective goal: bringing interventional regenerative orthopedic medicine (IROM) relief to patients across the world.

In the 2026 member dues cycle, you will be eligible to apply for international membership if you reside and practice outside the United States. Membership categories include:

(1)   International Active (MD, DO, or equivalent in country of practice). This is the only membership category with access to AAOM’s IROM Certification program.

(2)   International Allied Physician (Naturopathic Physicians (ND), Chiropractors (DC), Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), Doctor of Dental Surgery/Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDS/DMD), Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM)).

(3)   International Allied Health Professional (Physicians Assistants (PA), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Physical Therapists (PT’s), Occupational Therapists (OT), nurses, and psychologists).

(4)   International Resident or Fellowship (Physicians currently in a recognized Fellowship or Residency program.)

(5)   International Student (One-time only membership fee created for current medical students in good standing at an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school.)

AAOM reserves the right to occasionally and randomly check membership applications to ensure applicant address/country correctly coincides with application membership type.

SECTION CHIEFS

Your international membership automatically includes association in one of the AAOM’s International Sections. The purpose of the International Sections program is to provide an opportunity for members in specific regions to collaborate, represent AAOM in their respective area, and advise AAOM on any opportunities and/or issues facing members abroad.

International Sections are represented by a Section Chief who will advise the AAOM Board of Directors on matters of interest to the Section. Section Chiefs, or their delegates, will participate on the Travel Assistance Program Board of Advisors.
